On 17 May 2016, Ms. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver, accompanied by Mr. Narat Vidyananda, Consul, and Ms. Anyamanee Jakaew, Project Official, had a meeting with Ms. Luba Lisun, Parliament Education Office, Mr. Randy Ennis, Deputy Sergeant-at-Arms, Mr. Surjit Dhanota, Legislative Facilities Services, Ms. Angela Larsen, Speaker’s Office, and Mr. Manjit Khaira, Manager of Diplomatic and Consular Services, to discuss the preparation of Thai cultural performances to be held in front of the British Columbia’s Parliament Building on 12 July 2016 between 18.00 – 20.00 hrs.
This event is a part of “The Seventieth Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne” and “The Celebrations on the Auspicious Occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 12th August 2016.” It will also be the first cultural event to be held by a foreign Consulate-General in front of the British Columbia’s Parliament Building, which is one of the most important landmarks in British Columbia. The performances and activities during the event will include Thai traditional dances by the Ministry of Culture of Thailand, classical Thai instrumental and cultural performances by members of Thai Community, as well as exhibitions on Royal Biographies and Royal Initiated Projects of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand.
