Mr. Nontawat Chandrtri, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver participated in the Royal Kathina Offering Ceremony at Ratchadham Viriyaram Buddhist Temple 3. Phra Prommongkolyarn (Luangphor Viriyang Sirintaro), Lord Abbot of Dhammamongkol Temple in Bangkok, Patriarch of the Dhammayuttika Order in Canada, presided over the Buddhist ceremony.
Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver and spouse also presided over the Kathina ceremonies organized by Dhammakaya International Mediation Society of B.C. on Saturday, October 19, 2019, Buddapanyanuntarama Temple on Sunday, October 27, 2019 and Yanviriya 1 Temple on Sunday, November 3, 2019 respectively.
Members of Thai community and their families from Vancouver, Edmonton and nearby cities in Western Canada as well as the USA participated in the ceremonies, during which the Consul-General informed the Thai community about various missions of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver, consular services provided, and projects planned to strengthen Thai community and promote relationship between Thailand and Western Canada. The Consul-General and spouse also attended the Loy Krathong ceremony organized by Yanviriya 1 Temple and Ratchadham Viriyaram Buddhist Temple 3 to preserve and promote Thai culture and tradition.
