Thailand Visa and Certificate of Entry (COE)
( The following regulations applied during COVID-19 situation until further notice )

All eligible travellers travelling to Thailand are required to have a valid Visa and a Certificate of Entry (COE) to enter Thailand.
Please submit the application for the VISA directly to The Royal Thai Embassy, Ottawa OR The Royal Thai Consulate General in Vancouver Only.


The following are required for all types of visas.
Fit to Fly health certificate, issued within 72 hours before departure this is a statement by a doctor that you are free from symptoms and fit to fly (must be separate from COVID test)
Medical certificate with a laboratory result using RT-PCR test indicating that COVID -19 is not detected. Such COVID-19 test result must be issued no more than 72 hours before departure.
• Health insurance cover Covid 19 and worth at least $100,000 USD

***Beginning on 1 November 2020, eligible Non-Thai nationals who have a valid visa who wish to travel to Thailand must register for the COE at the following website: coethailand.mfa.go.th
This registration is the application of Certificate of Entry (COE) only. The system is not related to visa application. If you have yet to receive a valid Thai visa, please contact Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver for visa application at least 7 – 15 working days before the expected date of travel.
Before registration, applicants should prepare files of required documents in .pdf or .jpeg version to upload to the system.

Under the Declaration of an Emergency Situation, Eligible travellers who are allowed to enter Thailand are as follows:
A) Diplomats and officials of international organisations
B) Work Permit holders
C) Non-Thai who are going to work in Thailand
D) Family members of Thai nationals (spouse/child/parent)
E) Medical treatment in Thailand
F) Students attending schools and universities in Thailand
G) Non-Thai nationals who have the Residence Permanent Status
H) Non-Thai nationals who are permitted to enter the Kingdom under a special arrangement with a foreign country or have been granted permission by the Prime Minister:
H1 – Thailand long stay retirement visa (O-A & O-X)
H2 – Thailand Privilege Cardholder/ Thai Elite Card holder
H3 – Media production or Filming
G) Tourist (TR) (Single Entry only)

Currently, the following types of visas are NOT permitted to enter Thailand: Transit passengers (TS), Sports visa holders (S), Monks and other religious visa holders (R) and their spouses or children, Volunteers (O), and non-formal students visa holders (such as language schools, diving schools, boxing schools, Thai massage, cooking school). Due to a high number of infection rate, the APEC card holders and the applicants who are currently in Canada and wish to obtain Special Tourist Visa (STV) do not fall under the categories that could enter Thailand at the moment, please check back regularly for any updates.


Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ)
All non-Thai passengers will be subject to a 14-day quarantine at their own expenses at one of the facilities for Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) that have been approved by the Thai authorities.

Semi-Commercial Airlines:

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travellers are only permitted to enter the Kingdom of Thailand by repatriation flight and semi-Commercial Airlines. For all Non-Thai National who would like to travel to Thailand by the semi-commercial airline, please contact the airline directly. Semi-Commercial Airlines are follows:
