On 29 August 2015, Thai Community in Vancouver organized “Charity Thai Lunch” at Sawasdee Thai Restaurant in Vancouver. Ms. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang cut the ribbon to open the event. This project aimed to raise fund in support of children’s education development at Baan Mae Ramoeng School, Tha Song Yong District, Tak Province, Thailand. The school was under the Royal Initiated Project of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
The Charity Thai Lunch was part of the grand celebration of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s 5th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 2 April 2015 jointly organized by the Royal Consulate-General in Vancouver and Thai Community in Western Canada throughout this year. Among the many projects organized on this auspicious occasion were exhibitions on HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, exhibitions on Baan Mae Ramoeng School, and Thai bazaar booths by the Thai community in Western Canada during numerous occasions including the contemporary performance of “Lor: Love, Obsession, Revenge” (3 July 2015), the 2nd Thai Festival in Vancouver (4-5 July 2015) and “Thai Cuisine in the Garden” (13 August 2015).
In addition, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver, with the cooperation of the Canadian International Education Assistance Foundation (CIEAF) and the Thai Community in Western Canada, will organize a gala dinner under the theme, “Helping Children to Paint Their Dreams” on 19 September 2015 at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver. Like its predecessor, this project also aims to raise fund for additional dormitories and vocational training equipment in the assistance of Baan Mae Ramoeng School.
