On 1 December 2015 between 12.00 – 14.00 hrs., the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver organized the auspicious celebration of the 88th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the Thai National Day at the Waterfront Ballroom, Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, Vancouver. There were approximately 250 participants to this event including Ms. Suzanne Anton, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, British Columbia, who attended the event on behalf of Ms. Christy Clark, the Premier of British Columbia, numerous members of the British Columbia’s Legislative Assembly such as Mr. John Yap, Ms. Linda Reimer and Mr. Raj Chouhan, the Deputy Chief Constable, Mr. Warren Lemcke, who attended the event on behalf of Mr. Adam Palmer, the Chief Constable of Vancouver Police Department. Other participants included Consuls-General, members of the consular corps in Vancouver, leading businessmen and Friends of Thailand.
Among the numerous activities organized during this auspicious celebration were the exhibitions on His Majesty the King’s biography, royal duties, and royal initiated projects, the signing of well-wishing books, the well-wishing speech and ceremony, the musical presentation of songs composed by His Majesty the King, the blessing dance, the performances of Thai classical dances and music, and the presentation of Thai fruit carving in honour of His Majesty the King.
