On 11 December 2019, Mr. Nontawat Chandrtri, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver, together with Consuls-General of ASEAN member countries in Vancouver donated books on ASEAN to Vancouver Public Library (VPL)
The donation was jointly organized by Consulates-General of ASEAN member countries in Vancouver, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand to further promote ASEAN and its member countries. The Royal Thai Consulate-General’s donation consists of “ASEAN moments อาเซียน…เปลี่ยนผ่านในกาลเวลา” published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand to commemorate the establishment of the ASEAN Community in 2015 and celebrating ASEAN’s experience in regional integration, its forging of a shared sense of identity despite its diversity, and its bright prospect. And “Vivid ASEAN วิวิธอาเซียน” published by the Ministry of Culture and aiming to vividly demonstrate cultural diversity in ASEAN.
Mr. John Schaub, Board Chair of VPL, expressed his gratitude praising the initiative that will be beneficial to VPL users. The event was attended by approximately 30 representatives and officials of VPL, who showed appreciation and expressed their gratitude for the useful donation.
