On 4 February 2020, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver participated in the “Asian Studies Day”, organized by the Asian Studies Department, at Langara College, Vancouver. The event aimed to further promote better knowledge and understanding of countries in the Asia-Pacific region among College’s students. In this event, the Royal Thai Consulate-General organized a Thai booth showcasing arts, culture and tourism as well as videos displaying Thailand’s potentials in various sectors, namely trade, investment, education.
During the opening ceremony, Dr. Lane Trotter, President of Langara College, welcomed and expressed his appreciation to participating Asian Consulates-General for their cooperation and supports of this project. On this occasion, Dr. Trotter also expressed his wish and willingness to further promote cordial ties and collaboration with countries in the Asia-Pacific region in all fields. Other activities of this event included traditional performances, the displays of cultural handicrafts and local products of participating countries such as India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines and Thailand. There were more than 150 professors and students taking part in the event.
