On 9 June 2016, Mrs. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver, presided over the well-wishing ceremony to commemorate the “Seventieth Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne” on 9 June 2016, at the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver. The ceremony was participated by officials and staff from the Royal Thai Consulate-General, the Thai Trade Centre, and representatives of Thai Community in Vancouver and nearby cities.
During the ceremony, the Consul-General paid tribute to His Majesty the King and expressed the highest respect and deepest gratitude on behalf of Thai people in Western Canada for His Majesty’s tireless efforts and life-long dedication to the improvement of Thai people’s well-being and the sustainable development of the country.
The Buddhist ceremony and prayer to wish His Majesty the King’s long reign and happiness were conducted by monks from Budhapanyanantarama Temple in Burnaby and Yanviriya Buddhist Temple in Vancouver. On this auspicious occasion, the participants also jointly presented food and various necessities to the monks.
