On 5 June 2016, Mrs. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver, presided over the merit making and well-wishing ceremony to commemorate “The Seventieth Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne” at Yanviriya Buddhist Temple, Vancouver.
During the ceremony, the Consul-General paid a tribute to His Majesty the King and expressed on behalf of Thai people in Western Canada the highest respect and deepest gratitude for His Majesty’s tireless efforts and life-long dedication to the improvement of Thai people’s well-being and the sustainable development of the country.
The Buddhist ceremony and prayer to wish His Majesty the King’s long reign and happiness was led by Phra Dhammamongkolyarn (Luangphor Viriyang Sirintharo), Lord Abbot of Dhammamongkol. On this auspicious occasion, the participants also presented food offerings and various necessities to the monks.
Members of Thai community in Vancouver and nearby cities, officials and staff of the Royal Thai Consulate-General, approximately 200 people, attended the ceremony on this auspicious occasion.
