General Information:

  • The first Thai National Identification Card is required to be done in Thailand
  • Applicants can renew the Thai National Identification Card card up to 60 days prior to the expiry of the current card
  • Applicants eligible to apply for the Thai National Identification Card must have the previous card and the name must not be registered in Central House Registration
  • Thai National Identification Card card contains details of personal data in accordance with Thailand’s database on the House Registration system. In the case that the applicants wish to change the name title or surname after marriage or divorce, the applicants are required to apply for an amendment of his/her personal data at Thai District Offices in Thailand prior to applying for Thai National Identification Card

The required documents for renewing Thai National Identification Card:

  • Current Thai Identification Card
  • Thai Passport
  • House Registration (if applicable)
  • Proof of residency in Canada (such as BC ID Card, Canada Driver License, Study Permit, Work Permit, Permanent Residence Card or Canada Passport)

Fee:

  • No charge for an expired Thai Identification Card
  • 10 CAD for lost or damaged Thai Identification Card
