The Royal Thai Embassy in Ottawa and the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver jointly organized “Bike for Dad” in Canada on 11 December 2015 at Railway Greenway in Richmond, British Columbia. The event was presided over by H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Ambassador of Thailand to Cananda with the participation of officials and staff of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver, led by Ms. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver, Mrs. Nisabudh Virabutr, Director of Thai Trade Centre, Mr. Nirandorn Rojanasomsith, President of PTTEP Canada Limited, members of Thai Community and families as well as Friends of Thailand. The objective of this event was to commemorate the Auspicious Occasion of the 88th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibhol Adulyadej 5 December 2015.
Numerous Canadian dignitaries who took part in the homage ceremony to pay respect to His Majesty the King and the bike riding to commemorate this auspicious occasion included Honorable Mrs. Linda Reid, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the British Columbia, Mrs. Linda McPhail, Acting Mayor of Richmond, Mr. Chak Au, City Councillor of Richmond, Mr. John Coupar, Vancouver Park Board Commissioner, and Mr. Tom Mah, President of the Canadian International Education Assistance Foundation (CIEAF).
