Between 28-29 September 2015, Mrs. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand in Vancouver, visited Kamloops to meet and exchange views with the Thai Community. The visit was warmly welcomed by members of the Thai Community. On this occasion, the Consul-General informed the Thai Community about the projects carried out by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in 2015 and the project plans for 2016 to promote Thailand and to enhance ties with Canada in all fields. She also enquired about the livelihood of the Thai Community in Kamloops, exchanged views, and answered questions concerning the consular services and related laws.
During the visit to Kamloops, the Consul-General also met with Ms. Baihua Chadwick, Associate Vice-President International and Chief Executive Officer TRU World Global Operations, and Ms. Naowarat Cheeptham, Associate Professor of Microbiology, Thompson Rivers University to discuss about the promotion of Thai-Canadian cooperation in the field of education. In addition, the Consul-General met with Ms. Brenda Mathenia, Thompson Rivers University Librarian, and Ms. Margo Schiller, Head of Kamloops Library, to promote cooperation between the Royal Thai Consulate-General and public libraries in Kamloops as well as to explore the possibilities of establishing Thailand Corners in this city. The initiatives were well received and all parties concerned agreed to further consult with one another in further details.
