The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver organized “Thai Cuisine in the Garden” on 25 July 2017 at the Residence of the Consul-General to promote Thai cuisine and Thai food products, which were also in accordance with Halal standards. The event was highly successful with the participation of numerous high level officials, leading social figures, Consuls-General and members of foreign consular corps, prominent businessmen as well as friends of Thailand in British Columbia. The dignitaries who attended this event included the Honorable Bruce Ralston, Minister of Jobs, Trade and Technology of British Columbia, MLA Teresa Wat, former Minister of International Trade and Minister Responsible for the Asia Pacific Strategy and Multiculturalism, and Mr. John Coupar, Vancouver Park Board Commissioner. In addition to the presentation of Thai food products, the demonstration of how to prepare Thai cuisine and the demonstration of Thai arts of vegetable and fruit carving, the Royal Thai Consulate-General also presented Thai classical dances and Thai musical instrument performances to further promote Thai culture among over 70 participants this year.
