On 3 January 2019, Mr. Nontawat Chandrtri, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver welcomed Mrs. Trinh Tu Lan, the new Consul-General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Vancouver when paying her courtesy call. During the call, the two Consuls-General discussed about ways and means to further promote cooperation among ASEAN member countries in Western Canada region.
The ASEAN Consulates-General in Vancouver, consist of Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam with an establishment of the ASEAN Consuls-General in Vancouver (ACGV) Committee, developed a framework to carry out various activities such as meetings with key persons in various sectors of Canada, organizing the ASEAN Festival to promote a strong identity and active inter-cultural activities of ASEAN, organizing the annual ASEAN Charity Golf Tournament to raise fund to support local charities and so on.
