On 30 May 2016 Ms. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver, accompanied by Mr. Narat Vidyananda, Consul, met with Ms. Sarah Dench, Executive Director, International Office, and Ms. Carolyn Hanna, Director of International Services for Students, Simon Fraser University in British Columbia to promote research cooperation between Thailand and Canada. The principle objective of the meeting was to explore the possibility of setting up a joint short term research project for visiting Thai Ph.D. students to work with Canadian experts at Simon Fraser University. Among the potential fields of research cooperation were energy, renewable energy, clean energy, environment, pollutions, climate change, food security, epidemiology, microbiology, biomedical engineering, advance materials, nanotechnology, and criminology.
