On 19 July 2017, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver organized the “Amazing Thailand” event in front of the Parliament Building of British Columbia in Victoria. Ms. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver, delivered the opening speech and joined the ribbon cutting with Ms. Korbsiri Iamsuri, Director of Thailand Board of Investment New York Office, Mr. Suttichat Nilkuha, Director of That Trade Centre in Vancouver, Mrs. Waraporn Phattayakul, Manager of Phattayakul Thai Music and Drama School and Asst. Prof. Nanoln Dangsungwal, representative of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon.
The activities during the event include Thai classical performances and Thai classical music by Phattayakul Thai Music and Drama School and the Sounds of Thailand group. Thai communities in Vancouver and Victoria together with Thai Kids Club also presented Thai fabric fashion show. In addition, the Royal Thai Consulate-General also organized an exhibition of Thai silk and traditional Thai costumes. Thai Trade Centre in Vancouver and Thailand Board of Investment New York Office also joined the event with display of Thai imported products and booth to provide information on how to do business and invest in Thailand respectively.
In this occasion, the Royal Thai Consulate-General also set up an exhibition on the late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Royal Initiated Projects as well as an exhibition in honour of His Majesty Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun on the occasion of His 65th Birthday Anniversary on July 28, 2017.
The event received approximately 2,000 attendees comprising representatives from government sector, academic sector, business sector as well as Canadian public and members of Thai community.
