On Sunday, 9th July 2017, Mrs. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver presided over the merit making ceremony on Asarnha Bucha Day and Buddhist Lent Day at Yanviriya Buddhist Temple in Vancouver and Mr. Narat Vidyananda, Deputy Consul General, presided over the merit making ceremony at Budhapanyanantarama Temple in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. On this occasion, members of Thai community and their families from Vancouver, Burnaby and nearby cities participated in the ceremony, which included praying and meditation, the offering of food and various necessities as well as robes and Buddhist Lent candles to be used during the Lent to the monks for good merit making.
