Mrs. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand in Vancouver welcomed His Excellency Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Social Development and Human Security and his delegation who visited Vancouver and Victoria during 16-17March 2017. The purpose of this visit was to exchange views and learn about Canada’s best practices on the protection and promotion of women status.

During the visit to the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Consul-General Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang gave a briefing on the tasks and services provided by the Consulate, especially the protection of Thai citizens, the issuance of Thai passport & ID card, the authentication of documents, the mobile consular services, the visits of Thai workers, and the organization of activities to promote networking among Thai students in Western Canada.

On this occasion, the delegation also met with a group of Thai women in Vancouver in order to inquire information about their living conditions, challenges, and social supports received. Thereafter, the delegation attended a briefing at YWCA Metro Vancouver to learn about their policies and supporting programs to assist women who face struggles on many fronts. The briefing was conducted by Michelle Sing, Vice President of Human Resources, Volunteer Services, Communications and Crabtree Corner Community and Lisa Rupert, Director of Housing Services and Violence Prevention.
